Does Bio-Oil work?

Bio-Oil contains the breakthrough ingredient PurCellin OilTM, which works by reducing the thickness of the formulation, meaning Bio-Oil is easier and quicker for the skin to absorb. This also makes Bio-Oil a highly effective fast-acting, specialist skincare treatment that can be used to improve the appearance of skin complaints including:

Scars

Bio-Oil is specially formulated to help improve the appearance of both new and old scars, including acne scars. Bio-Oil can be used once the scar has fully healed and should not be applied to broken skin or a wound.

Although Bio-Oil will never remove scars fully, it can help improve the appearance of scars through regular use. For best results, it is advised Bio-Oil is massaged in a circular motion into the scar, twice daily, for a minimum of three months.

Stretch marks

Bio-Oil can help reduce the possibility of stretch marks forming. Often, those most likely to be affected by stretch marks are pregnant women, body builders, adolescents undergoing sudden growth spurts and individuals who experience rapid weight gain. Bio Oil can also help improve the appearance of existing stretch marks, although it will never remove them fully.

Uneven skin tone

Bio-Oil can help improve the appearance of pigmentation marks and blemishes caused by hormonal fluctuations, skin lighteners or excessive sun exposure. Bio-Oil should be applied to the affected areas, including your face, twice daily, for a minimum of three months.

Ageing skin

Bio-Oil can help smooth and tone ageing, sagging and wrinkled skin on both the face and body.

Dehydrated skin

Bio Oil works by helping to replenish the skin’s natural oils, which can be stripped away through time. Extreme weather conditions, water with high chemical content, frequent bathing and the drying effects that central heating and air conditioning systems can all dehydrate your skin.

Bio-Oil gel

Bio-Oil dry skin gel alleviates signs and symptoms of dry skin with its unique gel-to-oil formulation. Enriched with vitamins and essential oils, specially selected to improve your skin through moisturisation. Unlike traditional moisturisers that contain high levels of water, Bio-Oil gel’s specialist formulation is 87% oil, which allows for easy absorption and the benefit of intense moisturisation. Like the original Bio-Oil, Bio-Oil gel is available in three sizes 50ml, 100ml and 200ml, both online and in-store in the UK.
